A cheval sur la frontière entre la France (Saint Martin, composant alors l'arrondissement des Iles du Nord, département de la Guadeloupe) et les
Antilles Néerlandaises, dépendance d'outre-mer du royaume des Pays-Bas (Sint Maarten, Netherlands Antilles / Dutch West Indies) : l'actuelle
frontière a été instaurée entre la Hollande et la France le 23 mars 1648, par le Traité du Mont des Accords (Saint Martin) ; la chaussée devant
le monument est la Route Nationale 7, cependant distante et distincte de la RN7 Paris porte d'Italie > Côte d'Azur > Menton ; cette route du
tour de l'île de Saint Martin a été ainsi dénommée afin de bénéficier de la même notoriété que son homonyme en France métropolitaine

Straddling the current Dutch-French border at St. Martin, French West Indies / St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies > the boundary between France
and Holland was created by the Concordia Hill Treaty of 23 March 1648 and the photo was taken with French Saint Martin belonging to
overseas Guadeloupe Island, while Sint Maarten belongs to The Netherlands as part of Netherlands Antilles; the roadway in front of
the momunent is the road n°7 - "Route Nationale 7" - however far and distinct from the RN7 linking Paris to the French Riviera
and this St. Martiner road was named RN7 in order to profit from the fame of its well-known homonym on French mainland
